π οΈ How Our Frames Work
𧱠3D Printed Precision Frame
Each frame is printed using PETG or PLA+, both of which are archival-safe, inert plastics. Designed to fit standard U.S. banknotes (6.14" Γ 2.61") with a protective internal ridge.
πͺ Crystal Clear Mylar Windows
We hand-cut 4 mil Mylar for both sides. This archival polyester allows full visibility without exposing the note to air, handling, or dust.
π Acid-Free Mounting Tape
Mylar is attached using acid-free 3M #415 tapeβnever touching the note. This is a museum-trusted adhesive used for preservation.
π© Screw-Down Assembly
Frames are secured with steel thread-rolling screws. No glue, clips, or magnets. The note remains safe and the frame can be reopened as needed.

β οΈ Why Cheap Materials Harm Notes
π« Acrylic & Cheap Plastic
Cheap acrylic often off-gasses VOCs and builds static. Experts like the Canadian Conservation Institute and The Conservation Center warn against using these materials near paper artifacts.
π« Magnets or Metal Closures
Magnets can compress, mark, or discolor notes over time. The AIC Conservation Wiki and Art Gallery of Ontario advise using archival barriers to protect against direct magnet contact.
β Safe Alternatives
Use only Mylar, PETG, PLA+, acid-free tape (like 3M #415), and screw-sealed designs. These are the materials trusted by museums and currency preservation professionals.
